Lace frontal, Lace closure, Lace What?!

The lace part of a wig is simply made up of strands of hair that are tied into knots on a mesh. The knots appear as little black dots and can be bleached in order for it to appear brown; giving it a more realist root look.

Lace can come in different shapes and size, and can vary depending on the style you are going for.

  • A HD lace (also known as a Swiss lace) appear to be invisible when it is placed on the scalp.

  • Transparent lace- is a normal lace with a 'skin undertone' that can vary from light browns to dark browns in order to match your natural scalp colour.

  • A French lace is similar to a Swiss lace, but the only main difference is that the base of the mesh is slightly thicker than a Swiss lace; which is surprisingly a positive because it would last longer than a Swiss lace would, especially if your constantly wearing it and using adhesives on it.

They also come in different sizes...

  • A 360 is where the lace goes all the way around the circumference of the head, making it easy and realistic to style the wig up into a ponytail, without any tracks being seen.

  • A closure is 4x4, this beneficial because it is the easiest to maintain.

  • A frontal is approximately 13x4, meaning that it goes from ear to ear

  • And a mini frontal is about 6x6, which is ideal if you don't want the maintenance of a frontal but the looks of it.
